United Methodist Women

We meet at the church the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10 am…

Purpose:

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

President: Robbin Wilfong
Treasurer: Joanna Grayson

Current projects:

  • Co-sponsoring Partners in Prayer with the Children’s Ministry and Youth Dept. Matching up our children/teens with adults in our church. Opportunity for each one to pray for the other and create a supportive community between the generations.
  • The UMW collects the following to help many of our Virginia Conference Mission Projects:
  • Campbell Labels - save the Center panel (V-8, Pork & Beans, Soup and Swanson products)
  • Proof of Purchase Labels - Wonder Bread, Franco American, Log Cabin Syrup, Pancake Mix, Post Cereals, Awake & Orange Plus Breakfast Beverages.
  • Cancelled Postage Stamps: Cut stamps from envelope leaving a 1/4″ margin around it.

Reading Program:

The UMW has a yearly Reading Program in which members are encouraged to participate. We have a library of books that represent many categories such as spiritual growth, nurturing for community, social action, and education for mission.
