January 2009Purpose:
United Methodist Men exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man’s life. Men’s ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ
Current projects:
- Sweetheart Dinner around Valentine’s Day
- Corn Roast
- Assist with fund raising for other areas of the church
Upcoming Schedule:
June 7th, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting to be followed by Chicken Barbeque at APR property weather permitting.
June 29th, 2008 - Church Wide picnic following 11:00 AM service. Bobby Dick to check with Rev. Cloud to see if it is ok for Methodist Men to host the Church Wide Picnic.
July 12th, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting following by Chicken Barbeque weather permitting.
August 2nd, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting. An inventory of jars and lids for Apple Butter will be conducted at this meeting. Following the meeting there will be a Chicken Barbeque weather permitting.
August 6th, 2008 - Corn Roast at APR property. This is a Church Wide event and serving will begin at 6:00 PM.
September 6th, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting. Following breakfast at approximately 9:30 AM weather permitting the potato’s will be harvested. Following harvesting of the potatoes there will be a Chicken Barbeque.
September 20th, 2008-Roast Beef dinner at 5:30PM followed by the Basket Auction at 7:00 PM. Chuck will get at $50.00 gift certificate to say ‘Thank You” to David Owens for auctioneering.
October 4th, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting followed by washing of Jars and Lids for Apple Butter making.
October 11th, 2008-Meet at 10:30 AM to plan 2009 calendar.
October 15th, 2008- At 1:00PM peel apples and deliver to church for cutting at 7:00PM.
October 16th, 2008- Cut apples 7:00 PM and wash apples
October 17th, 2008- Cut apples 7:00 PM and wash apples
October 18th, 2008-Make Apple Butter starting at 3:00 AM.
November 1st, 2008 - Methodist Men’s meeting 8:00 AM.
December 6, 2008 Methodist Men’s meeting 8:00AM.
December 14th, 2008 - Christmas Pageant. Methodist Men to cook a Turkey Dinner to be served before the pageant between 4:30 - 6:00PM. Cook 10-12 turkeys.
